So who else is trying to find more creative uses for the fingerprint sensors in these new Android devices? This guy, Syash Srijan, has found a wonderful one for Mac computer users. Hows about using your fingerprint to unlock your Mac computer? With the DroidID app, this is now possible.

This app mimics the MacID app on the iOS which allows you to unlock your computer via your iPhone’s fingerprint sensor. But there was no Android-and-Mac alternative, until DroidID came out. Now you can use your fingerprint as passcode every time your Mac asks for a password.

Every time a query for a password goes up on your Mac, a notifications is sent to your Android device. You scan your fingerprint and that’s basically it. The requirements are few and simple – DroidID is compatible with Android devices running Marshmallow, and of course, a fingerprint reader. You’ll also need El Capitan running on your Mac. The setup process is very simple.

Right now, the app will only work for Android and Mac combos, nothing for Windows yet, although the developers say support for Windows will be their next thing to do.
