Verizon began pushing out the 2.2.1 (Blur 2.3.340) update to all users earlier today, and although it’s not the update we all would love (2.3), it does bring in some major fixes.
The update that was discussed earlier this week will bring in many Exchange enhancements as well as Madden 2011 (Demo). The update also includes enhancements to Visual Voice Mail, a new Data Widget to home panel and more that we covered here.
To update your device, select Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Update and the OTA update will start to download. For more information about the update and download instructions head over to www.verizonwireless.com/droidxsupport.
They’re rolling out an upgrade from 2.2 to 2.2.1 and on some to 2.3. I’m still waiting for 2.2 on the fascinate and I only bought it a month ago! What’s going on?!
It ain’t a 2.3 (Code name: Ginger Bread). It’s just a patch, of 22 Mb or so. Still waiting for GingerBread to be out, the real Droid v2.3 :-s
Hmm…I never received this update and the link to the update on Verizons site has been pulled.
