The guys behind Crossy Road really know how to make great games. Well, at least, cool arcade games that anyone can play and enjoy. Shooty Skies is a new arcade shooter game that brings you up in the air instead of the roads. No more skipping, hopping, and jumping–just plain flying and shooting the enemies until you blast them all off.
Up there somewhere in the skies, you’ll see animals driving airplanes and trying to shoot you down. We don’t know their motives why they’re after you but that’s fine because you have no more time for chitchat. Just shoot’ em and no one could annoy you now. One hit might make them explode so better be careful as there’ll be lots of explosion going to happen.
Unlike in Crossy Road where you have to hop and avoid the vehicle, you only need to dodge, duck, and weave. It’s a classic flying, shooter arcade game that is really enjoyable to play. It’s not something you’d be playing for hours but it’s one game you’d keep on coming back to especially when you have a lot of time to kill.
The game’s 3D graphics is obviously similar to Cross Road. It seems that voxel graphics is more than a trend now. The colorful and boxy images are now popular, thanks to the likes of Monument Valley, Crossy Road, Down the Mountain, etc. Since this one is from Crossy Road developers, should we expect to see a Pac-Man, Princess Ida, and PSY in the skies soon? We’ll see about that if they’ll make a cameo.
