We have talked about CMApps before; this is the app that allows you to run CyanogenMod apps on your device without having to root your smartphone. This is a great way for you to try out some of the apps that come on CyanogenMod without having to void your warranty. The app has been updated with some new features and one of them is a big deal.

The most important update to come in the new app version is an automatic Android version detection system. This detection system automatically chooses which apk needs to be downloaded based on what version of Android you are running.

That change makes CMApps compatible with Android 4.2 and higher. Other minor changes in the update include a changelog popup and a popup that installers see on the first run of the app. CMApps provides links to apps called Apollo, Camera Next, Camera, Clock Widget, DSP manager, File manager, Sound Recorder, Calculator, Torch, Trebuchet, and wall papers.

The update landed February 1 and is 2.7MB in size. It has between 1000 and 5000 installs and is currently on version 3.0. You can download the updated app right now on Google Play.
