If you like reading comic books and if you like taking control of characters’ fates in games or if you like reading the Choose Your Own Adventure books that became popular decades ago, then this new game will be right up your alley. Framed has won over 25 awards (as it states on their Google Play page) from various gaming award-giving bodies because of its innovative gameplay and visual design as well. Now you can play this “noir-puzzle game” on your Android devices.

The story is, well, framed inside a comic book that hearkens back to the film noir style of the 40s and 50s. You play a secret agent with a briefcase filled with secrets and trying to escape both the police and determined criminals that want to steal it from you at all costs. You would need to swap the pages of the comic book around to ensure that you escape unharmed from those that seek to harm you. So basically, it’s a puzzle that you need to solve.

The animation is top-notch yet simple. The art is hand-drawn. The music is made up of live jazz performances to make it even more noir-ish. But it’s not always fun and games, as the more complicated the levels get, the more chances that your character will die after you’ve switched the panels around. But the great thing about it is that this is a trial and error game, so you get to do it all over again until you get it right.

You can download Framed from the Google Play Store for just $0.99. Not a bad price to play such an engaging and unique game.
