To the 10 people in the world who still have landlines at their homes, admit it, you’ve probably wished that your old-school phone could do better. Tech company BT believes that too, and that is why they came up before with the Home Smartphone, offering you a landline device that could do so much more than just answer calls. Now they’re back with Home Smartphone II, and it seems smarter than before as it now has access to Google Play Store.

Yes, we all have our smartphones and all, but just in case you still need a home phone, it would probably be better to get one that has multi-functions just like a smartphone. The Home Smartphone II is a connected touch screen device that you can have at home, and aside from being able to access your usual social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc, you can also have several features that only landlines can bring. For example, it uses the Nuisance Call Blocking technology that supposedly helps you block up to 80% of unwanted calls. You can even choose which type of calls to block, like international ones, withheld numbers, no caller IDs, or calls from a payphone.

The Home Smartphone II also has a 2GB expandable memory so you can actually store music files there so you can play it through the loudspeaker. It also comes with a front-facing camera should you suddenly need to take a photo of something while you’re using it, or when it is more accessible than your regular smartphone, or for video chats. The range of the phone can last up to 50 meters indoors and 300 meters outdoors. You will also be able to store up to 1500 contacts on the phone. And it also has an answering machine that you can access even when you’re remote.

The main difference between the Home Smartphone II than its predecessor is that it now has access to Google Play Store, so you can actually choose which apps are useful to download. It is available through their online store, and costs around $260.
