You would think that wireless speakers will automatically have WiFi and Bluetooth, but two years ago, when Bose released its SoundTouch system, they didn’t think of doing so. But now, particularly with the increasing popularity of music streaming services like Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, etc, it’s not just a bonus to have connectivity, but it’s a must. So now for the third-generation SoundTouch system, including the compact SoundTouch 10, they are finally already Bluetooth-enabled.

The new SoundTouch 10 is smaller than the existing ones in the system, replacing the SoundTouch Portable, and also has six preset buttons that you can use to open your favorite stations or playlists, even without opening up the app itself. The Unidome transducer lets the compact speaker fill the room with its sound, despite being just 8.3 x 5.6 x 3.4-inches. This transducer has the highest excursion of its size in the whole Bose product line.

Meanwhile, we get upgraded versions of the SoundTouch 20 and 30 Series III. The former also gives room-filling performance from it compact enclosure while the latter is considered to be the brand’s “best-performing, one-piece solution”. The third generation speaker system also has new soundbars (SoundTouch 120 and 130), plus a 5.1 SoundTouch 520 home theater system.

The most popular music streaming services, namely Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and Deezer, are all built-in and accessible though the SoundTouch app. Pricing is of course a little more expensive, but this is Bose we’re talking about, so it should be worth it.

SoundTouch 10 – $199.95
SoundTouch 20 – $349.95
SoundTouch 30 – $499.95
SoundTouch Sounders and home theater system – $1,099.95

  1. I’m going to give the surround system a good look. My first Bose product was the Soundlink III which I use daily while working and around the house. I couldn’t be happier. The sound at least to my ears, is amazing.
