Pirate games are a dime a dozen nowadays. But if you want one that is a humorous but still enjoyable take on this storyline, and if you’re into turn-based strategy games, then you might want to give Swords & Crossbones a try. You not only get to save your friend and employer, but you also can create your own little pirate island, earn money from them (virtual of course), and get to stop the reign of terror of tyrannical pirates.

Basically, what you’re trying to do here is rescue your friend who has been captured by Duke A.Blizzardo, who has the reputation for being the most dangerous pirate in the whole of the Antipodal Archipelago. But along the way of your adventure, you also get to build your own pirate island and even turn it into a tourist attraction, all the more to get more money my dear. You won’t get stuck in the island though, as you get to explore the three oceans and immerse yourself in a world of both volcanic waters and frozen seas.

You also need to gather support as you cannot find treasure and defeat tyrant pirates all by yourself. You can get the support of “miscreants and scalawags” to create your own crew and each of them have their own “special skills” to help you along. And you would need all the help you need as you will battle the ten pirate lords of the archipelago and battle various elements like zombies, parrots, soldiers, etc.

You can download Swords & Crossbones from the Google Play Store for $3.99. But don’t worry, there aren’t any more in-app purchases that will attempt to rob your wallet/credit card.
