If you’re always on the go and don’t have time to waste falling in line at your local Starbucks, but you still need your coffee fix or else you would function like a zombie, then this latest announcement from your favorite coffee chain should give you a shot straight to your vein. The Mobile Order & Pay feature is now ready for a national rollout after testing in selected areas. This means you can order and pay for your drink while you’re on your way to the nearest branch, then just swing on by to pick it up.
They pilot tested this program in Portland in December of last year and then launched it in the Pacific Northwest early this year. Around 3,400 additional stores became part of the test project this summer, but now, it’s making its bow with a national rollout with more than 7,400 company-owned stores participating in the program.
How it works is pretty simple. After you’ve installed the app on your mobile device, you choose a store from the map view in the app, look through the menu, choose your coffee and/or food items, pre-pay for your order, and then see the estimated time that your order will be ready. And you do all of that within Starbucks’ Mobile app, while standing on the train, walking to the nearest one, or driving to there.
The Mobile Order & Pay is already integrated into the Mobile App, which also has the My Starbucks Rewards, so no need for separate apps to do all these things. If you don’t have it yet, you can download the Starbucks app for free from the Google Play Store.
