If you own a Blackberry Priv and you’re a customer of AT&T, you might have been jealous of other Priv owners who were already running the Android Marshmallow beta program on their devices. But finally, you won’t be out of place as the Blackberry Beta Zone has announced that AT&T Priv owners can now test out the beta version of the latest Android major update. While this is in no way an indication that the official Marshmallow update will come out soon for the Priv, at least it is a sign of progress.

However, you probably should have signed up for it beforehand as it seems like they’re not opening up the beta testing program for new applicants. The announcement simply said that Beta # 6 is already available for all who are in the program and welcoming AT&T Priv owners into the fold as well. This new build isn’t that different from the previous 4th and 5th builds, so if you’ve had the Marshmallow beta on your Priv, no need to get all excited. But better to update it still.

Since this is still in beta, probably not everything is working as it should. So it would be good if you take a frequent trip to the Blackberry Beta Zone and read up on the discussions there and see whatever issues you might be facing. But at least you will be able to experience Google Now On Tap, Doze, better notifications, and other stuff you’ve been reading about the Marshmallow.

You’re supposed to receive an email advising you that your device is ready to receive the Android Marshmallow beta version, so if you haven’t yet (and if you enrolled in the beta program), just be patient a little bit more.
