Archos has announced their new lineup of devices for the European market today, with four new Platinum phones. The lineup features HSPA+ and dual SIM support across the lineup, as well as a MT 6752 1.3GHZ dual-core processor.

All phones will operate on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. Each phone will have a Micro SD slot, and feature a 5MP camera with autofocus and flash. With so much in common, the changes are in the screen and battery size, mostly.

The Platinum line of phones starts at the 4-inch screen size and goes up to 5.3-inch in increments half an inch (save for the biggest device). That lends itself to the naming the devices: Platinum 40, Platinum 45, Platinum 50, and PLatinum 53. The battery sizes are also different, with sizes of 1500mAh, 1680mAh, 2100mAh and 2500mAh, respectively.

The screen resolution will also change across the lineup. The Platinum 40 will sport a 4-inch 800 x 800 WVGA display, with the Platinum 45 giving us a 4.5-inch 854 x 480 FWVGA screen. The Platinum 50 will have a 5-inch 960 x 540 gHD screen, and the Platinum 53 will keep pace with a 5.3-inch 854 x 480 FWVGA display.

Of course, the dimensions and weight of the devices will also be different, according to the screen size. Starting at €99.99 and going up to €159.99, there is an Archos smartphone for any budget friendly shopper. There was no word on availability, and the Archos online store didn’t have them listed just yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know more as news comes out.
