For the first half of the year, Antutu named OnePlus 3 as the No. 1 smartphone. The benchmarking website has already named the Most Popular Android Smartphones in the World, as well as, in some of the key countries around the world. The benchmarking community has just posted the top mobile phones in the following countries: China, Taiwan, HongKong, Korea, United States, Russia, Germany, India, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Data gathered were from January 1 to June 30, 2016. Across the globe, last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5 ranked first. The next three handsets are also from Samsung–Galaxy S6, S6 edge, and Galaxy S7. In fifth place is Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 followed by another Samsung phone–Galaxy S7 edge. Meizu MX5, LG G3, LeEco 1S, and Meizu Metal. It’s interesting that most of the phones listed here are not part of the Top 10 Performance phones earlier. Only the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge made it to both lists.

In China, the most popular smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 from the top Chinese OEM. Almost all of the handsets in the list are made in China except for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge on No. 2 and No. 8. We can note that most of the popular brands are from China.

Meanwhile in Taiwan, a Korean phone is No. 1–Samsung Galaxy Note 5. A Taiwanese OEM-made phone made it to second place–ASUS ZenFone 2 and then there’s Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Sony Xperia Z5, HTC One A9, Sony Xperia Z4, and Samsung Galaxy S6. It’s interesting that Sony phones are still popular in Taiwan.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is No. 1 in HongKong followed by two South Korean phones–the LG V10 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The old Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 still made it to the list followed by the ASUS ZenFone 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy A9, Huawei Mate 8, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and LeEco 1S.

We’re not surprised that in South Korea, all phones are from Samsung and LG. On top rank is the Galaxy Note 5 followed by the LG G3 Pro, Galaxy S6, LG V10, Galaxy Note 4, LG G2, G3, Galaxy S3 edge, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy S5.

Meanwhile in the United StateS, Samsung phones dominated once again together with the Nexus phones. Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, Oneplus, and Nexus 5X. It’s interesting to note that OnePlus made it to the list.

  1. Popular how? i mean how do you compare which one is more popular than the other? Because if you want me to believe that the Nexus phones sold more than any other phone on the US list you are delusional. What a crap article.
