Remember Cozmo from last year? The cute AI-powered robot we were introduced to that has been highly awaited is almost ready to come out and play. The group behind it, Anki, has recently announced the Cozmo Code Lab that will allow adults and kids alike to create more functions for the smart robot. Cozmo Code Lab is a visual programming language that lets anyone get a headstart in robotics.

Cozmo owners can learn the technology and move up to the advanced level with Cozmo Code Lab as they start to work on the robot. It’s easy to do because you only need to drag-and-drop blocks to program a sequence. This lab is said to be based on the Scratch Blocks project of Google and the MIT Media Lab.

This consumer robotics platform can let you set movements, actions, animations, and events for the Anki. The robot can drive forward and backwards, turn around, move his head, change lights, say phrases, and start other intelligent actions. You don’t have to be an expert programmer because you are free to experiment here and create content. Your only limit is your imagination. A simple drag and drop of blocks in a sequence doing specific actions will make the robot fun to watch.

Th Cozmo Code Lab will be available as a free update to the Cozmo app.
