HTC went to Reddit to share the news that a number of HTC smartphones are now ready and compatible for Android Pay. We’re grateful that HTC was quick to work with Google and enable the new mobile payment method working on some HTC products from different carriers.

The official Android Pay app can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store after months of waiting for it. Google Wallet may have failed but Google is expecting this rebranded Android Pay to be used by the Android community in over one million stores. It’s also expected to directly rival Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.

Some of the HTC smartphones that can run Android Pay include those models from AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon:

AT&T. HTC One M9, HTC One (M8), HTC One (M7), HTC Desire EYE, HTC Desire 626

T-Mobile. HTC One M9, HTC One (M8). HTC One (M7), Nexus 9

Verizon. HTC One M9, HTC One (M8), HTC One (M7), HTC Desire 626, Nexus 9

To enjoy Android Pay, download the app and then add your debit or credit card details. Those stores or apps that use Android Pay can easily accept your mobile payment. Paying is easy: you just have to place your mobile device near a contactless terminal. Some rewards and loyalty cards can also be stored on your Android Pay account so when you pay, points are applied automatically.

Some problems may be encountered on a few HTC phone models. If you see one, don’t be annoyed and just report it to Google or HTC so they will be able to fix the issues as soon as possible.
