Android Pay is expanding to more regions. The last country we know it visited was Hong Kong back in October. We also know it’s being prepped for Android Wear and is getting more partners like AMEX in the UK, 30 more banks in the US, Mastercard and Visa, Chase Bank, and Walgreens. We just know more financial institutions will add support for Android Pay and that it will be launched in more countries. Next to receive the mobile payment service is New Zealand.
With only your Android phone, those living in New Zealand can now pay cashless for any goods and services at McDonalds, BurgerFuel, Domino’s, and The Warehouse. ‘Tap and pay’ is now possible in the country and expect more stores and establishments will be added. To pay with your Android smartphone, wake your device, launch the Android Pay app, place the device near a supported contactless terminal, and finish transaction.
Android Pay in New Zealand works with your BNZ Flexi Debit Visa card. Just download the Android Pay app from the Google Play Store, add your card details, and start shopping.
Some other shops that accept Android Pay in New Zealand include Torpedo7, Noel Leeming, Warehouse Stationery, and Spark.
