BQ isn’t exactly a new brand. We’ve heard of the name back in 2015 when a new Android One phone was made available in Portugal and Spain. The BQ Aquaris was introduced with entry-level specs but with support for 4G LTE and dual microSIM slots. At a price below $200, the BQ phone was poised to become a bestseller. Back then, it was offered with free music from the Google Play Store if you would buy directly from the BQ website.
Two new BQ phones are available: the BQ Aquaris X2 and the BQ Aquaris X2 Pro. The duo comes with almost the same specs: a 5.65-inch FHD+ screen, 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, 3100 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+ technology, and dual 12MP and 5 MP with ƒ/1.8 rear cameras. The difference lies on the processors (1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 8x Kryo vs 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 660 8x Kryo) and configurations (32GB/3GB RAM or 64GB/4GB RAM and 64GB/4GB RAM and 128GB/6GB RAM).
You can get the BQ Aquaris X2 in Carbon Black or Sand Gold for about $370 while the BQ Aquaris X2 Pro in Midnight Black, Glaze White, Deep Silver costs $466.
What’s so special about these two? They are the first phones to include Google Lens. Earlier this week, we mentioned Google Lens would be available in supported devices from OEMs. The two support such as made possible by the dual cameras.
