A few days after announcing that Android 5.1.1 is finally going to be made available to users of the Nexus 9 – Google’s flagship Android tablet made by HTC – we can finally confirm that the update is rolling out through “over the air” (OTA) updates, and that factory images for those who want to do the update the manual way are also available.
So, go ahead and update your Nexus 9 with confidence. It most likely contains the bug fix that you’ve been waiting for. Some Nexus 9 users have been complaining about laggy performance and jittery video. Let’s all hope this gets fixed via Android 5.1.1. No sense wasting all that great hardware on buggy software.
If you don’t know what to expect from Android 5.1, here are some. A new feature called “Interruptions”, will bring you notifications only when you get Events and Reminders, Calls, or Messages, or any combination of the three. You can also set calls to interrupt you for certain unique contacts. You can also use a new feature called Screen Pinning. This keeps one screen as your main display until you unpin it.
