Amazon updated their Fire TV today, bringing in additional channels for their lauded voice search feature. We’ll now get the pleasure of using Hulu Plus, Crackle, and Showtime Anytime by singing our commands into Amazon’s remote. The three join VEVO as the services outsid of Amazon to utilize the feature.
Fire TV has quickly become one of the more desirable set-top boxes, thanks to its snappy performance. Amazon’s renowned media catalog also helps, and bringing in other services with similarly great media doesn’t hurt.
Fire TV is back on Amazon after a short restocking period, so if voice commands on your favorite channel are your thing, it’s time to pick one up. Long term, Amazon has their eye on gaming; a dedicated controller and Game Studio building games specifically for the device bolster Amazon’s living room ambitions.
You can also cast to Fire TV using AllCast mirroring, and who doesn’t want something Gary Busey endorses? With larger partners on board with voice commands, we expect others will quickly follow suit.
