Maybe you’ve heard about ABZÛ, the popular new game that was launched initially for the Sony PlayStation 4 and PC, just at the beginning of August. Well, we can now say that the game is on Android as well, but specifically on NVIDIA’s SHIELD devices such as the SHEILD Android TV gaming console, the SHEILD Tablets, and the SHIELD Portable gaming console.

How do we explain what ABZÛ is? Well, it was developed by Giant Squid Studios, and the name of the game derives itself from the ancient words “ab” (ocean) and “zu” (to know), intended to be interpreted as “ocean of wisdom”, or practically “to know the ocean” – because that’s what you will be doing within the game. The game places you in the role of a nameless swimmer, deputized to remedy some unspecified past ecological disaster. ABZÛ takes place entirely in the ocean – that is, you can swim up to the surface, but you will only see nothing but a huge expanse of water in every direction.

Under the water is where it all happens. You swim through an ocean swirling with life. Fish in every direction, and you travel through a series of caverns and sunken temples, bearing some kind of Mediterranean or Near Eastern influence. The objective is to move forward by pulling some levers and doing some puzzles – or you can choose not to. It’s also very much ok to keep swimming around and take it all in.

But it’s better to experience it than just talk about it. If you have an NVIDIA SHIELD device, the game is now available via GeFORCE NOW. It will probably cost you around USD$20.00, but it will be all worth it.
