Samsung Galaxy S9 Android Pie update

We knew it’s happening soon–the Galaxy S9 Android 9 Pie’s global rollout, that is. After months of development and beta testing, the South Korean tech giant is ready to serve S9 owners a taste of the Pie. Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are getting the major OS update in several key markets. Expect the rest of the world to receive the same. And in the near future, more Galaxy phones will be upgraded as well. The update is initially for the unlocked units so those who purchased from the carriers will have to wait a bit.

Othe Samsung Galaxy S9 units will get the Android 9 Pie next month for some regions. It’s the official version already and no longer in beta.

To check if the update is ready for your phone, launch the Samsung Members app on your S9 or S9+. Android Pie upgrade schedule should be there on the notices section.

Check manually on your Galaxy S9 or S9+. Go to Settings> Software update> Download updates manually. It’s also available via the Samsung Smart Switch. Feel free to download the Android Pie firmware from a reliable source. (Available HERE)

Android 9 Pie for the Samsung Galaxy S9 delivers One UI and other major enhancements on the following: Samsung Keyboard, Notifications, Device Care, Settings, Always On Display, Bixby, Samsung DeX, Samsung Health, and Contacts.
