Well would you look at that! It’s a brand new 3rd party Twitter application made for big fat Android 3.0 Honeycomb toting tablet. It’s got several columns, and in an Android world full of single-column apps for tweeting, columns count for a lot. You’ll soon see that not only does this app have a mightily integrated look and feel to it for Honeycomb, it works pretty darn good for some basic Twitter functionality. The mini review below was conducted on a Motorola XOOM tablet* running Android 3.0.1 Honeycomb.
First Impressions
When you open this app, you’ll notice instantly that it’s made to look at home in Android 3.0 Honeycomb. It’s got that same purply bluish hue going on in the background, and everything text-wise is pretty much standard. Once you get into the app, you’ll notice that it’s not quite as polished as Twitter’s official app for handsets is, but that most of the functionality you’d be able to work with on a desktop is present here. The columns work to allow you to see multiple items at once, working in an oddly unique way on the search screen that allows three separate terms to be searched for in three completely separate columns. Of course you’ll need a few extra eyes to utilize this, but it’s neat!
Usability
TweetComb holds the honor of being the first Android tablet optimized Twitter app, but it’s far from perfect. It’s more than a couple intuitive clicks away from being really friendly to use (like the ability to tap someone’s name to get to their profile – absent.) On the other hand, the majority of your Twitter functions are here – basically everything you’re able to do on Twitter’s in-browser official setup, you’ve got somewhere or another in here. You’ve just got to be able to find it. That said, I really do like the notification noise this app pops off every time a new tweet comes in – peeps!

Wrap-Up
If you’re the sort of person that’s bummed that there aren’t more tablet-centric apps out there, especially for big-ticket items like Twitter, have a peek at this one. TweetComb costs a mere $2.99 on the market and if you’re hesitant about it, 15 minutes is more than enough time to see all its inner workings and get in under the buzzer and send it back. It’s very simple. Tweet to your heart’s content and see who’s retweeting you and messaging you all at once!
Nice to see a review of a Honeycomb app, especially a twitter app, at that. But the video is too blurry to really see what’s going on, in motion.
This reminds me an awful lot of Tweetdeck. That said, if it is decently comparable to it, you can expect it to sell like hotcakes! Those additional columns do come in handy when you want to keep track of DMs and Mentions, along with your Tweetstream.

The newest update allows tapping on both username and topic links too.
