EA Games delayed the launch of this specific racing game, but don’t look now – Need For Speed No Limits VR is finally out to Google Daydream. This is the virtual reality (VR) version of EA’s popular racing game which will probably test the VR capabilities of your Google Pixel smartphone.

Need For Speed No Limits VR looks like it is the most graphically ambitious game on Daydream to date, so this means that the Google Pixel will need all the muscle it has in that Snapdragon 821 chipset and Adreno 530 GPU. Need for Speed No Limits tries to get as close to getting you a driver’s seat experience as possible. The rear view and side mirrors actually are usable now, and you can see cars racing along next to you on either side.

The gameplay is pretty intuitive – anyone who has played a Need For Speed game before will probably have no problems figuring it out. Players use the remote to play, and you can can tilt to steer, swipe to use the boost, and click the touchpad to drift.

The game is a premium one – you have to spend USD$15.00 to get this, but with the quality of the game we say it’s worth the money. Our mild fear is that your Google Pixel can heat up pretty fast with the graphics rendering of the game. We hope the Pixel can hack it.
