So OnePlus has finally released a software update for its new flagship – the OnePlus 3T, and it’s rolling out over the air (OTA). Along with that, the guys behind OxygenOS have also put out the second beta version based on Android Nougat for the OnePlus 3. So all in all, a busy day for the China-based company.
First up, OxygenOS on the OnePlus 3T will now be updated to version 3.5.4. This update contains numerous bug fixes including optimizations for devices on T-Mobile’s network, a fix that reduces lag when the battery is below 5%, and more fixes to the Battery Saving mode. The update also fixes a bug in Bluetooth connectivity, especially with Mazda branded cars. All in all, a pretty functional update for the OnePlus 3T. And no, it’s still not Nougat.
For the OnePlus 3, a new beta open build has been released – Open Beta 9, which is still built on Android Nougat. Implementing changes from the feedback on Open Beta 8, this new build brings a lot of GUI optimizations, as well as fixes to DPI issues. It is important to mention that this build is not flashable using TWRP, you must use stock recovery to flash this build.
In both new versions, there are specific feedback sites that OnePlus would like users to use if they have bugs or issues with the software. Make sure you give your feedback to OnePlus – it will help you in the long run to have a better version for the next updates.
