Zynga acquired the NaturalMotion gaming studio in 2014, and this new game called “Dawn of Titans” is their second release after the acquisition. This new title seems to be a strategy game that leverages on the mobile platform – simple controls and quick battles. That said, the “titanic” feel of the game seems lost when you simplify it this way.
Dawn of Titans allows you as the player to make hundreds of tiny soldiers do your bidding with a tap of your finger. They go to battle – fire arrows, swing swords, and toss bombs, and the titular giant titan fights alongside them. All the player needs to do is tell this army whom to fight and where to go. The objective of the game is beat the bad guys, and you must use these titans, along with hundreds of troops, to do that.
The game is surprisingly filled with lore, and the storyline is rich, so get ready to read and listen a bit. But the climax of the game is usually the battles – which are quick and fairly simple to control. Each battle in Dawn of Titans lasts not more than a few minutes. Players start by selecting the titan and a gaggle of supporting troops. Then the players can point them to an enemy. The controls are simple – tap on a unit to select, and then tap where you want them to go.
Of course, since the game is free-to-play, a lot of the wonder in the visuals and battles get lost in the frustration of kingdom building, which usually takes a lot of time or money (if you want to spend). Getting new titans means spending some money to buy virtual currency. Download Dawn of Titans via the link below.
