Farmville turns into a match 3 game for your Android devices

The Farmville craze may have died down (do I hear sighs of relief) and we now rarely receive invites and requests from our Facebook friends (or we may have just blocked them). But that doesn't mean this highly addictive game from Zynga has disappeared from the face of the earth. In fact, one of its new reincarnations now is as Farmville: Harvest Swap, is a Match-3 game that is now available on mobile devices. And you don't even need to ask your friends for help to play it!

We’ll understand if you say it has been a while since you’ve heard of Zynga. They were once big when Facebook games were the “in thing”, but a rapid decline also saw Zynga take the full brunt of Facebook being an unstable platform for casual gaming. So here we are, with Zynga pressured to catch up with the mobile gaming industry – their first substantial offering is a mobile strategy game in “Empires and Allies”.

FarmVille 2: Country Escape arrives in the Play Store

Zynga has released the latest version of FarmVille. This one is called FarmVille 2: Country Escape and it is set in "an all new coastal location." Players will be growing crops, nurturing animals, collecting treasures, crafting goods and more. But perhaps key here -- this release is being pushed as a "new chapter of FarmVille on the go."

Clay Jam is available today on the Google Play Store, and it's a game that looks to appreciate the finer points of modeling clay. In fact, every model in the game was made with modeling clay, which gives it that hand-made feel that you just can't get with computers.

Zynga internal memo confirms layoffs, closures

The days of pulling out your phone and indulging in a moment of Words with Friends or Draw Something might be coming to an end. Earlier today, Zynga workers were greeted with a notice that they had two hours to pack up and get out. Now an internal email by the company's CEO Mark Pincus confirms that the company plans to cut 5% of its workforce and close the Boston studio.

New details on Phosphor Games’ Horn surface

Zynga launches free Hanging With Friends Game for Android

Zynga makes some of the best game apps out there and the company has announced a new free offering that you can get on the Android Market right now called Hanging With Friends. The app is a social game twist on the traditional Hangman game that we have all played at one point. The game play has friends taking turns to create and guess words to stump other players.
