It’s been a while since we heard something from Microsoft regarding Cortana, their own digital voice assistant app. Today, a new version of Cortana is launching for the UK market, and if all goes well, we hope for the global market eventually. The new version gets a refresh in terms of user interface, with the app being more focused on search functions now.
Cortana is now bumped to version 2.0, and it is Microsoft’s way of saying that you can now seamlessly connect your Windows 10 laptop or desktop to your Android (or iOS) device. If you’re in the UK, you can download the app now via the Google Play Store. You will still need a Microsoft account to make this work on your device, though.
The new interface is quite… purple. That’s the first thing you notice. Then you see that the layout is now a bit more straightforward, with elements focused around the search bar. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of new features for this version – just your same old Cortana with a more purple shade.
That’s not to say that Cortana isn’t useful – if you have a Windows 10 laptop, you can definitely benefit from the interconnection. If you’re not in the UK, we’re pretty sure that an APK is available somewhere in the web. UK users can check out the link below.
