If you were hoping this was going to be the jump to Nougat, then allow us to disappoint you – it’s still Marshmallow. This new update that’s rolling out to the OnePlus 3 is a small one, and it will be bringing a new video recording feature, plus some tweaks and fixes.
This update will bring your official OxygenOS software version to 3.2.8 for the OnePlus 3, and the big feature addition here is the 60fps video recording at 1080p resolution. It used to be just 30fps, but we guess they found a way to up the frame rate on the Full HD video recording. It adds another weapon to the already competent video arsenal for those of you who take videos with the OP3.
Other tweaks and fixes include a fix for the lag that users experienced while scrolling through Snapchat. We’re not very heavy Snapchat users ourselves, but we imagine this can be very annoying for those of you who are. Good job, OnePlus, for listening to that specific complaint.
Interestingly enough, there’s no update to Google’s security patch included with this update, so OnePlus must be saving that for a bigger update coming soon. The update will roll out OTA, and should arrive to your handsets soon.
