We don’t have enough details but a Reddit thread said the Android Nougat for the Moto Z is coming. This one is already expected as we mentioned as early as September that that Android 7.0 version for the Moto G4 and Moto Z is arriving this 4th quarter. Both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force are expected to get the OTA software update but we have no confirmation yet from Verizon.
However, some Moto users have confirmed that it’s ready for download. If you haven’t received any alert, then you are free to check your settings manually and see for yourself if a new version is available.
The Moto Z Force Droid’s build is listed a NCL26.86-11 while the Moto Z Droid is NCL25.86-11. You need about 1.5GB of free storage and download takes about 20 minutes so make sure you have enough power. The Android 7.0 Nougat for the Moto Z phones include the new features such as App quick-switching and split-screen.
Check your device if software update is ready. Go to Settings> System updates> Check for system update. It’s nice that Motorola and Verizon have released the update this early and before 2016 ends. Motorola is now owned by Lenovo and no longer Google so it’s still good news that an OTA update to the most recent version is ready–much earlier than other OEMs.
