One of the prime ways for companies to get feedback for their software is through user preview programs, and this is exactly why Google is rolling out the Chromecast Preview Program. For heavy Chromecast users, this is a win-win situation – you get to test out upcoming software and feature updates ahead of everyone else. The only thing Google asks of you is to tell them what you think about it.

To be very clear, Google says that this is not a beta program in that the updates the previewers will get is the same that will roll out to all other users. It’s just one way of getting people excited about new features, creating some hype, and of course getting feedback from users.

If this is something you’d be interested in, and we think a lot of you will be, joining the program is actually pretty simple:

1. Open up the Google Cast app on your phone or tablet.
2. Tap the overflow menu button on the Chromecast device of your choice.
3. Tap Device settings.
4. Tap Preview Program and tap Join Program.

That’s it! While this preview program will most likely not put out anything groundbreaking, users may actually get to see something nice way before everyone else does. There is no added cost to your hardware or finances, so this is a good program for you to get into.
