Android Nougat has officially dropped, and trust us when we say that you’re going to be seeing more and more of Android 7.0 in the coming days. Some happy news for current Nexus device owners, since they are right to expect that they will be first in line to receive Nougat updates – factory images for the Nexus 9 tablet, the Pixel C, and the Nexus Player have surfaced, meaning that owners of those devices can now manually flash Android Nougat into their devices.

Usually, the more convenient way of updating will be to wait for an over-the-air (OTA) update notification on your device. But as we know, OTA updates are usually done via staggered rollouts, so it will take a bit of time before you see Android Nougat OTA updates on your devices.

However, if you are confident in manually flashing your device with the factory image, there’s no one stopping you from enjoying the wonders of Android Nougat right the heck now – especially if you own the HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet, the Pixel C tablet hybrid, and the ASUS-made Nexus Player Android TV console.

You can download the images from Google’s official factory image download page (linked below). Flashing your device will entail connecting your device to a PC and running some ADB commands. It will wipe out your old system, so you better do a backup of your important files first before pushing through with this.
