After the next-gen Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and Galaxy Note 7, we’re also waiting for the impending arrival of the Galaxy A8 and the next Galaxy C phone. The last pair introduced was the metal-clad Galaxy C5 and the bigger Galaxy C7 introduced last May. The C5 and C7 are mid-range phones with premium look and feel as made possible by the metal design. Specs of the Galaxy C phones are good enough so we’re expecting the next C to be better.
Samsung is said to be preparing the Galaxy C9. It’s from the new Galaxy C line that boasts of a metal design plus good-enough specs. The phone is known this early as “Amy”. It’s only a codename for the Galaxy C9 model SM-C9000. This information is from some reliable resources who claim to know a lot about Samsung.
The Galaxy C9 may be more similar to the Galaxy C5 than the C7. Since the C5 has a 5.2-inch screen, S617 chipset, 4GB RAM, and 32GB built-in storage, the upcoming C9 may have the same design but with some improvements like a bigger screen–maybe 6-inches. Samsung may retain the 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage because they are already high for a mid-range device but the processor could still be changed.
If you may remember that before the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 were officially announced, we reported several leaks and sightings so we’re expecting similar information will be published before the public launch. Interestingly, this SM-C9000 was seen listed on Zauba. The Indian import tracker is usually a source for new phones being tested and are about to be unveiled. Not much details were written but only the 5.7-inch description so we’ll see.
