While T-Mobile is soon to be called AT&T-Mobile because of the recent acquisition by AT&T they are still going to be pushing hard with new and upcoming devices. Reports are saying that it will be business as usual and they will continue to play hard-ball with the competition. Making things even better for everyone, they just announced the new G2x, a Google Experience device that is made by LG. Today is the announcement but last week we heard news of an April 20th release.
This is exciting news and I am very happy to hear they will be keeping it up. The move to AT&T will take at least 12-18 months so anyone wanting to upgrade (like me) might as well upgrade if a beautiful phone like the G2x is available. I might get it myself, and knowing me I will upgrade to something else in 4-8 months anyways so the takeover is of no concern for me.
Note that the image on T-mobile.com shows Android 2.2 FroYo on the photo-shopped image. We expect the device to ship with Android 2.3 or 2.4 when it finally is released. For those that don’t know much about the G2x (aka Optimus 2x). It is a sweet phone by LG that will feature top tier specs such as the Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU 1 Ghz dual core chip, a 8MP rear and 1.3MP front camera, 1080p HD recording, HDMI out, a 4″ Display with LG’s bright technology and more.
With T-Mobile still rolling out 4G everywhere and upgrading some locations to the HSPA+ 21 Mbps network. Places such as Chicago, NY, and Las Vegas have just got the new 42 Mbps upgrade. The G2x will be a full 4G device so expect it to be blazing fast. This phone will most definitely be a fast little bugger with 4G, Dual Core, as well as the “Pure Google” OS and I can’t wait to get my paws on it and give it a run for it’s money. We will be sure to update you all with more as it comes in.

They can keep Gingerbread–it’s a disaster. I have two nexus ones with displays that won’t wake up on incoming phone calls and a Nexus S with a piss yellow, low-contrast display and auto brighness control that’s useless. If Gingerbread is any kind of trend, Android is doomed.
Maybe your phones have some kind of problems… Gingerbread has been just find on my G2.

I think you have defective devices. My nexus s is rock solid. There’s zero glitch so far since release.
your dumb, go away
Are or were you running CM7 on either of those phones. Because that was an issue with “Pre-release” Android 2.3 that rom builders were cooking, such as CM.. Not in stock Gingerbread. The issue is not there if the official OTA for the Nexus One.
and the Nexus S they changed the coloring for a reason, if you don’t like it. I suggest you root and check out Modaco.com as he has a fix to revert the colors on the Nexus S. and other than that idk, cuz my Nexus One, G2, and MT4G all work AMAZING with Gingerbread!
don’t get this phone your going to be disappointed with it.
so if the lg optimus g2x a pure google exprience phone would it get updated from google its self or would it still get update from lg? im getting it when it come out
