LG seems to be on a roll. After launching the X-Men themed ‘X’ phones, here’s another: the LG X Skin. We’re not sure but this also looks like the X style that launched a few months ago but we’re giving the South Korean tech giant a chance to show of some “skin”. It’s only a mid-range phone equipped with a 5-inch screen, 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 1.3GHz quad-core, and only 1.5GB RAM.
The new LG X Skin only has 16GB on built-in storage but memory can be expanded twice its size with a microSD card. Camera system includes an 8MP main cam and a 5MP selfie shooter. Phone is already powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and a small 2100mAh battery we hope can last a full day.
Device weighs only 122g and is sleek and slim at 144.80 x 71.40 x 6.90mm. There’s the usual connectivity features like 4G, 3G, FM, Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi, and GPS. It’s a mid-range phone that offers Dual SIM support. Phone sensors include the Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, and Accelerometer. Price tag reads SKW 231,000 which is about $199. You can choose from either the Titanium or Gold version of the X Skin.
Aside from the LG X Skin, the company also unveiled the X5. We learned about this phone last month when LG filed for the ‘X5’ trademark. It’s officially announced and is expected to be available in Black or White with a more affordable price of SKW 200,000 ($173).
There’s no mention on availability of both smartphones but we know they will be out in Korea soon. Major specs of the X5 are similar to the X Skin. The only difference is the screen size, RAM, and rear camera. The X5 has a bigger 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 2GB RAM, and a 13MP rear camera with LED flash. Battery size is also bigger at 2800mAh. Obviously, the device is also a bit heavier and bigger at 133 grams and 151.6×76.9×7.2mm. If we are to follow the X-Men reference, this X Skin is more apt for Mystique, right?
