Well, well, well, what do we have here? It looks like Google has just updated the Google I/O app to get it ready for primetime when Google I/O 2016 rolls in from Mountain View in a couple of weeks’ time. If you’re expecting a complete overhaul of the app like what happened for I/O 2015, you’ll be disappointed. But the deal is really the content, which should be a great resource for you if you’re attending the conference.

While the app’s content will have been updated, the aesthetics will look familiar if you used last year’s app. The menu on the left side will give you options to look at the full I/O schedule, explore sessions, and view a map of the venue. If you’re behind on the news, the venue will be at Shoreline this year and not Moscone.

There’s a section to watch videos as well, but there aren’t any videos available yet, so the section has an archive of old content for now. Google has also been busy adding content to the I/O 2016 website, which you might want to visit sometime soon before the conference kicks off.

The app is now available via the Google Play Store (check the download link below), so pick it up if you have the time. If you kept the old app from last year, you can update it via the same link.
