The developers of the IM application recently updated and improved end-to-end encryption. Deleting messages and hiding chats are made easier now for mobile communication that’s more private than ever.
Not all messaging and chat programs promise end-to-end encryption. There is still always the risk and for some, sadly, is not always true. It’s not always supported and some companies have been adding such only recently for various features. Viber proudly announced that every user can now benefit from the privacy and security as a result of end-to-end encryption.
This development means millions of Viber users will no longer have to fear for their conversations being compromised. Everything is secure whether Viber is being used on a smartphone, tablet, or desktop in a private chat or group message. Getting the newest version of Viber will bring the added security.
Messages whether one-to-one or shared among a group of contacts will be encrypted. Viber will notify the user first when messages and conversations are already encrypted. They are usually indicated by a grey padlock. Should you see that symbol, it means the item is finally encrypted.
Another way to ensure Viber is safe and you don’t just send from or receive files to random contacts, every user will receive a cryptography key unique to a device. You can also set and authenticate your contacts as “trusted” so you will be able to receive everything from them. Instead of a grey lock, you will see a green one. If there is a problem, lock will change to red.
Viber also now allows Hidden Chats. You can protect your conversations by hiding some of them from the main screen. This way, no one will be able to see the current chats. Nobody can snoop and read your messages whenever you’re not around. ‘Hidden Chats’ is just one feature that adds a layer of security to Viber, making it a safe, secure, and private app for everyone.
