TeamViewer QuickSupport has been around for some time now, giving dozens of smartphones remote control support. It was Samsung who first receive such assistance from the TeamViewer developers because obviously, there are more Samsung Android mobile devices in the market. Other OEMs were soon given the same tech support. LG, ASUS, Alcatel, Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo, HTC, and Sony were only some brands than can be accessed and fixed remotely by a qualified technician.
The app has undergone several changes including bug fixes, enhancements, and new features but the most recent update brings a major change, at least, for Samsung device owners. Why, TeamViewer divided Samsung support into two apps. Instead of just accessing the TeamViewer QuickSupport app, Samsung users will have to download the ‘Host for Samsung‘ and the ‘Samsung QuickSupport app’
The new apps are exclusive for Samsung phone owners. They can get support from anyone using a Mac or Windows and take advantage of file transfer, chat, and remote control of the device. Meanwhile, the Host for Samsung app allows permanent access to the device. It has almost the same features as the standard app but it’s more ideal to use if you want to setup access from your own personal computer and not just from anywhere or from random machines.
Updates for the standard QuickSupport app include small fixes and improvements, remote control access for more Kyocera and Panasonic devices, new Material Design icons in the virtual button bar for those running Android Lollilop, as well as, an official fix to the crashing problem on Sony mobile devices. The “Host for Samsung” app also brings important fixes, enhancement, and remote control access for Panasonic devices, and new icons. The app can also now read the correct Serial number for MDS Dashboard.
