Sony may not exactly be the top brand in mobile devices but it certainly is still one of the most visible in the market today. Just recently, it gave up the Xperia Z line in favor of the new Xperia X series. It’s not merely a change in the letter of the alphabet used because it’s supposed to be even “smarter” but still with the familiar design.
The Sony Xperia X, X Performance, and XA are smarter than most smartphones today but before we get all too hyped up with their release, let’s focus on the global version of the Xperia Z5, the Xperia Z3 Plus, and the Z4 tablet.
The Sony Xperia Z5 and the other variants recently made their debut in the United States still running Lollipop. But good news, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now ready for the last Z phone. This follows after NTT DoCoMo’s release last week. Firmware updates for the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium are also available.
This particular Marshmallow released includes the February security patches from Google, as well as, the new home launcher, better battery management, Doze mode, and new app data permissions. As for the older models like the Z3 Plus and the Z4 tablet, Sony has also made the Android Marshmallow finally available. OTA notifications should be received soon.
