The Sony Xperia M5 is set to arrive in Europe this February. It was made available together with the Xperia C5 Ultra in selected countries back in September shortly after the two mid-range smartphone were announced a month earlier. Android 6.0 Marshmallow isn’t available yet on the Xperia M5 but finally, the phone is now ready to receive Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Android 5.1 Lollipop is ready to roll out for the Xperia M5 single SIM (model numbers E5603, E5653, E5606) and the Xperia M5 Dual (E5633, E5663, E5643). The variants will be upgraded to firmware versions 30.1.A.1.33 and 30.1.B.1.33, respectively. All versions should be ready now for download except for E5643.
The firmware updates are expected to deliver better volume mode control, memory management, silent control, and alerts control. Controlling the camera from the SmartWatch 3 should also be smoother and easier now.
