Earlier this month, we announced that the ASUS ZenFone Zoom is almost ready in the United States and will arrive this February. This was a few weeks after the handset was announced and made available in Taiwan last December. It’s the same imaging-centric smartphone also shown off at the IFA 2015. The black ASUS ZenFone Zoom particularly the ZX551ML 64GB variant is now available unlocked from B&H for only $399.
The price makes it a mid-range unit that boasts of great cameras, real optical zoom lens, and a periscopic design for crisp and clear photos all the time. The ASUS ZenFone Zoom features 5mm thick aluminum edges but still with a sleek form.
ASUS ZenFone Zoom comes with a 13MP PixelMaster rear camera and PixelMaster front-facing camera. There are several features and camera modes you can use to take awesome photos. Phone comes equipped with a 5.5-inch LCD capacitive screen, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 4G/LTE, non-removable 3000mAh battery, 2.3 GHz Intel Quad-Core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 4GB RAM, PowerVR G6430, and 64GB built-in storage.
Smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and we don’t know if it can be upgraded to Android Marshmallow yet. As for connectivity, there’s the standard Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
You can now pre-order for the black, unlocked ASUS ZenFone Zoom ZX551ML from B&H. Shipment will begin on February 1. Note that this is the North American variant which will come carrier-unlocked already.
