If not Material Design or Marshmallow, Android users anticipate the release of official Cyanogen OS or at least the CyanogenMod updates. A few days ago, the official CyanogenMod support for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and 8.4 was released. CM13 nightlies were also released for the Google Android One ‘sprout4’ and LG G2. The Cyanogenmod community actually started with a small list of devices just last month.
This time, CyanogenMod 13 for the old Samsung Galaxy S III is ready for download. The Galaxy phone may be considered a bit old now but such support is still important to a select group of Android users.
The Samsung Galaxy S III, particularly the Exynos-powered variant, is ready to receive the CyanogenMod 13 support. Previous support was said to have been discontinued because of the low RAM. Why, even the Samsung TouchWiz won’t even run properly and smoothly but it should be okay now. This one is already made official but it’s still an early ‘download-at-your-own-risk’ version. If you try this, you might still experience a lot of bugs.
This version was shared by a forum member on XDA known as forkbomb444. He maintains the ROM at present so feel free to reach out to him if you encounter any bugs, errors, or issues with the CyanogenMod 13 (CM 13) for your Samsung Galaxy S III.

Working flawesly on my sgs3. It is curious tha my new phone is on 5.1.1 but the old one is with 6.0.1 :-). Maybe vendors will learn their lesson from the dev community someday 🙂
