Perhaps taking on the same idea as the DIMPLE.IO introduced last year, the Air Button works as a shortcut button to some of the functions of your phone. Instead of having to unlock your phone and wait for other phone tasks to launch or close, you can easily tap the air button found at the back of the phone. You can use a button as shortcut to making a phone call, opening your inbox, launching the camera app, or just about anything you frequently do on your smartphone.
Swiping to unlock or clicking to launch an app may be easy but simply pressing on the Air Button reduces a few seconds. Time is gold especially when you’re in a meeting. Need to open your mail? Click on the Air Button found at the back of your phone. Want to make a quick call to your co-worker about something? Tap on the shortcut button. You really don’t have to search and scroll endlessly on your phone when the Air Button can direct you to something right away.
The Air Button is a set of customizable buttons that works over NFC. The stick-on buttons don’t use any battery so they are always connected. Feel free to customize the apps you want to access with the Air Button. You don’t have to upgrade your smartphone to have those cool buttons. Just help the project on Kickstarter.
The Air Button team hopes to raise $15,000 by November 26. As of this writing and with 20 more days to go before deadline, more than half of the amount have been sent in already. Learn more about the Air Button for Android devices on Kickstarter.

This is a crowdfunded project, and as such may not deliver what its creators initially promise. Most crowdfunding sites, like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, have policies about what happens to your money if the project fails to deliver on its goals, but choosing to back a project is inevitably a risk. Android Community’s reporting on crowdfunded projects should in no way be seen as an endorsement, unless specifically stated, and we recommend closely examining the terms and conditions to understand your individual rights as a backer before making a pledge.
