Here’s some different news about the HTC One A9 to get you away from the did-HTC-copy-Apple-or-did-Apple-copy-them arguments. The newfangled HTC One A9 is already available for pre-order in the United States, and the price at the announcement for the 32GB model they will be selling in the US market was USD$399. Apparently, there’s more to that story.
We can quote an HTC spokesperson about this pricing story. HTC says that the announced price for the HTC One A9 is a “a very limited-time promotional offer for that region’s online store, as well as select HTC-only franchise stores. The offer is a special promotional pre-sale and is expected to conclude once the One A9 is available on-shelf at major retail and distributor partners.”
This means that the USD$399 pricing will only last “until 12:00 midnight of Nov. 7”. After this promotional period, the new smartphone will sell at its “original pricing” of USD$499. You should all try to remember that so you don’t rage at your computer screens for adding that extra 100 dollars when you purchase this new phone after the promo period.
We wonder, though, if this is HTC reacting to the initial comments of the Android tech pundits about the announced pricing of its new flagship phone when it was launched. Most tech blogs wondered why the pricing was this way – very low for a flagship – and wondered if the performance of the phone was up to par.
great price offering
Dejavu…samsung galaxy alpha….same destiny…htc did not learn leason. Sony and Htc are doomed.
I am a die hard HTC fan but phones like A9 confuse me. Why not to invest all the efforts and time in the next year’s M10?
