When you’re meeting up with colleagues or friends, a lot of times we tell them we’re on our way, but of course we may be fibbing or embellishing the truth (like you actually just left the house). That doesn’t bode well for trust in your professional and personal relationships yes? But now there are a lot of ways to actually share with them where you are exactly, and not just for trust reasons. Navigation app HERE is making route sharing official in the latest update.
This feature has actually been available in the HERE for Android beta, but will now be for the regular HERE users. Previously, you could already share your destination and ETA to whomever you want, but now, you can actually show them your whole route including directions, and whether you’re traveling on foot, in a car, or commuting. You just need to tap the Share button and you can send it through text, email, and more options. So not only is it for assurance reasons, but it also can be for safety precautions or if the person you’re sharing it with actually knows a shorter route to get to your destination.
Meanwhile, to add a bit more humor and excitement on your drive, Surfer Dude is back! He has been a fan-favorite of HERE users with his laid-back voice that makes you think of the beach and the ocean. Well, now he’s finally here for Android devices, to help you drive stress-free. Just don’t forget you’re on a busy street and not actually at the beach when you’re using his voice to navigate to your destination.
You can update your HERE app now through Google Play Store. Expect more updates in the next few months as the HERE for Android Beta program continues its testing.
