Everyone is getting carried along with the push to make apps and devices ready for Android Marshmallow, even legendary developer Chainfire. He recently announced that he was turning over one of his most popular creations, the SuperSU app, to another group and that he was going to concentrate on “other projects”. But he still had time to churn out an update to CF.lumen, an app he created to give you better color profiles for your Android device’s screen, albeit only a beta one.
We’ve featured CF.lumen before, mainly because it was a “root only” app before Chainfire decided to give it out to non-root devices as well. Basically, the app controls the color saturation of your screen, as either warmer or cooler tints will help your eyes be more relaxed at certain times in the day. After sundown, for example, lower color temperature will eliminate blues, which will greatly relax your eyes and also help you sleep earlier, as the blues force your eyes and brain to stay awake.
CF.lumen has now been updated to 3.10 BETA, and while the stable 3.00 version is available via the Google Play Store, this beta update is not. Check the download link from the official XDA thread here (on the second post). Since it is a beta version, Chainfire guarantees that there are known issues – check the source link for more info on that.
If you want to test this out, know that this new version uses a new and better root driver than the old version. But be ready for some issues and bugs. To try it out, go look for the download link within the official thread.
