Almost a year after the last DuraForce by Kyocera was released, AT&T is once again releasing the latest smartphone from the same brand and series. The new DuraForce XD is a follow-up to last year’s model.
AT&T is the first mobile carrier in the US to bring the rugged phone that is ready to withstand all the harsh elements and tough use. Phone comes with a huge 5.7-inch touchscreen display, making it in the phablet category. It boasts of its military-grade durability that makes it able to resist water, drops, vibration, high altitude, low temperature, dust, or solar radiation–name the element and the phone’s Military Standard 810G protection and IP68 certification can handle it. There’s also the Glove and Wet Touchscreen Operation feature that enables user to touch and control the phone even when fingers are not exactly dry or when wearing gloves.
Kyocera has always been known for coming up with tough phones but this is the first ever rugged phablet to have 4G LTE connectivity. Just like any flagship phone in the market today, anyone can be productive with this device whether in the field, in the office, or on-the-go.
Special features of the phone are courtesy of AT&T. You can take advantage of Android for Work, as well as, AT&T’s Mobile Device Management (MDM), Sales Force Automation (SFA), and Workforce Automation (WFA). Phone also features support for AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk (EPTT). Making this an ideal work phone are the extra loud dual speakers, large side key for quick communication, and its 3700mAh battery.
AT&T has not disclosed availability and pricing but we’ll let you know soon.
