If you’re like us – waiting for our Remix Mini to arrive from shipping – then this new video from Jide Technology (makers of the Remix Mini) does not help at all, and only accentuates the agony of waiting. But if you have little idea of what the Remix Mini can be, then this new video is for you.
First up, what is the Remix Mini? Well, it’s an Android device that’s making a strong suggestion to be either your desktop workstation or your set top TV device. It is powered by a 1.2Ghz quad-core Allwinner Cortex-A53 processor, with a choice of either 1GB or 2GB of RAM (we went with 2GB, of course), and it set us back around USD$40. It has an Ethernet port, HDMI output, 2 USB ports for mouse and keyboard, and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. But what does it do? Well, watch the video below.
As you can see, the Remix Mini will pretend to replace your desktop computer, and it will do a pretty good job, too. Don’t expect to be playing Call of Duty 4 on it, though. But for documents, internet browsing, and all the other simple stuff, it will do that with ease. It can also be your Android set top TV device, complete with Android gaming capabilities.
If you missed the Kickstarter campaign, worry not. The Remix Mini is set to come out anytime this month in retail stores, with prices at USD$30 for the 1GB version and USD$50 for the 2GB version. We’re still waiting for ours, but soon we’ll have it.
