A few months ago, we told you about a new feature that Twitter was rolling out to selected users and testing it out first before releasing into the wild. Well finally, that day has come as Twitter Highlights should be arriving for all Android users. This new feature is perfect for those who love the micro-blogging site/app but can sometimes hardly keep up with all the information coming in through Twitter.
Basically, Twitter Highlights gives you a digest of all the things that the algorithm thinks is relevant to you, based on the people you follow, the topics and events trending near where you are, or topics and people that are popular among your network. For this first major run, users will receive one notification every other day, and when you click it, you can view it in another interface. You just have to swipe right to left to view all the content that has been pushed to you.
With their beta test for the past few months, they noticed that users spent even more time on Twitter and their level of engagement was noticeably higher. If you constantly use the highlights section, you’ll receive more notifications as the days pass by. If you rarely interact with it, it will eventually disappear.
Twitter Highlights is now available for Android users and can be accessed by more than 35 languages globally. No need to update anything, it should just appear on the overflow menu. Just make sure that your notifications are on in your mobile settings.
