Acer has long joined the Chromebook game. The last of which is a 15.6-incher, the Chromebook 15 model CB3-531, impressing us with a sub $200 price tag and okay specs for a budget laptop. This year at the IFA, the Taiwanese company is revealing its first convertible Chromebook that according to Acer, can bend backwards both for work and play.
The Acer R11 Chromebook features a 36-degree hinge design that can be folded backward or forward, depending on how you want to use it. It’s like any normal Chrome OS-powered notebook but it can also transform into a laptop, a display, or a pad. You can even set it up in tent mode for a better touch and viewing experience whenever, wherever.
Acer promises more speed and flexibility with this new Chromebook-laptop-tablet-display. It’s a multi-hyphenated device that can help you with productivity whether for work or school. When you want to relax by just listening to music, browsing the web, or watching videos, the Acer R11 can be your best buddy.
The convertible notebook is packed with an Intel Celeron processor, super fast 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless connection, USB 3.0 port, 11.6-inch HD touch screen with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and wide viewing angle, and an HD webcam. The devices impresses with its LED-backlit LCD screen that features an integrated 10-point touch, offering several useful and easy gestures like Swipe, Tap, and Pinch to Zoom.
The Acer R 11 runs Chrome OS so it’s fast, secure, and very easy to use. You can use it online or offline but most files are recommended to be saved on the cloud. Take advantage of synching with your Google account so you can also access your files even without the Chromebook. Device will be available in the EMEA region on November with a €299 ($337) price tag but it will arrive earlier in North America for $299 this October.
