Good news today for some of the Samsung Galaxy S4 users out there who have been waiting a while now for their taste of Android Lollipop. It has come a bit late, but Verzon’s Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 is finally here. And in a bit of other news, reports say that a Lollipop build is also rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition soon.
Just a few days ago, AT&T pushed a Lollipop update to their Samsung Galaxy S4 users. Verizon users need not look longingly across that divide, as the Lollipop update you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Today, the Verizon update build LRX22C.I545VRUGOC1 has been released, bringing with it Lollipop happiness, several new features, and the slick new Material Design user interface to Verizon Galaxy S4’s.
A couple of things to remember when finally installing this update – first, that this is the first one in what is probably a long line of Lollipop updates in the future, so expect it to be big. Around 1GB, to be exact, so make sure you are doing this through a strong WiFi connection.
Finally, we all know that the Samsung Galaxy S4 was the only Samsung phone to get a Google Play Edition – but an update to Lollipop has been very slow in coming. Rumors say that the update is indeed impending, so users can expect the rollout to arrive soon.
