The LG G4 is shaping up to be one of the most awaited smartphones after images of the non-final renders began leaking online. But it looks like the OEM will not be satisfied with just launching one, as a new gadget appeared at the FCC this week. We don’t know much about it based on the documents, but speculation is that it will be a phablet to be launched alongside their upcoming new flagship.
Under the name LG LS770 (of course this isn’t the final name) will have a 5.8-inch display, and dimensions are 79.3 mm wide x 154.1 mm. It’s almost the size of Samsung’s phablet, the Note series. The largest smartphone that LG has introduced among its mid-range collection is the LG Magna with its 5-inch display. The specs of this particular device includes running on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and just 8GB internal storage. It has an 8MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing one and it comes with a 2,540 mAh battery. It’s not something to write home about, but hopefully, this new one will have better specs.
The FCC ID Label Form area says that the label at the back of the gadget will be easily seen because “the phone will be marketed without the battery installed.” Of course this doesn’t mean that this new LG phone/phablet will not have a battery but will probably be replaceable. The FCC document might also have mentioned that it will have a stylus, although based on the mid-range LG G3 Stylus, it’s not that great, compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note series.
Until we get to see the actual specs of the LG LS770 (which may or may not be called the LG G Pen), we’ll suspend our judgment in the meantime. We’re looking forward to seeing more of the LG G4 anyways, and hopefully this phablet will also be comparably awesome.
